Richard Reese, 60, passed away peacefully in his home in Delta Junction, Alaska on Saturday, January 26, 2019. He was born on May 17, 1958 in Munich, Germany, son of Jimmy and Bessie Reese.
His family settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1965, and after living there for many years, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky for two years. Richard decided to join his brother Michael in Fairbanks eighteen years ago. After a while, he moved to Delta Junction and took up permanent residence. He worked part time for the Forestry Department and had a passion for helping others. He was a member of the Delta Junction Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was involved in the church and the community. He loved serving the Lord and spending time with his church family, especially his close friends Pat, James, and Dr. Ray. Richard loved living in the mountains with his dogs and truly enjoyed God’s country.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jimmy Reese and Michael Reese. He is survived by his sister, Joan (William) Bailey in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and two brothers Robbney Reese and Craig Reese in Denver, Colorado. He has one niece Kimberly (Wayne) Watkins, two nephews Cordell Brown and NyRobbie Reese, two great-nephews Ian Watkins and Isaiah Watkins, one great-niece Aujalee Brown and a host of family and friends. His remains will be sent to Colorado Springs, Colorado where a memorial service will be held in his honor.
