Stephen Owen Squires, age 79, of Delta Junction, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 7, 2019, with family holding one another’s hands and surrounding him with love.

His name, Stephen, literally means “crowned one.” He honored his King in his daily life and blessed those around him with the love of Christ. Upon his earthly death, he gained his heavenly crown. He was a hero in his children’s eyes and loved his family deeply.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Helen Squires, and brother, Bob Squires. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 56 years, Judy Riddick Squires of Delta Junction, Alaska; son, Jon Squires of Alaska; daughters, Lauren Mitchell (Dwayne) of Woodstock, Georgia, and Hannah Davis (Charles “Chuck”) of Woodstock, Georgia; brothers, Tom Squires (Nay) of California, and Ken Squires (Diane) of Alabama; and grandchildren: Austin, McCall, and Brooke Mitchell; Jonnie, Michael, and Julie Squires; and Owen and Grace Davis.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, June 9 at 10 a.m. at the Living Word Ministry in Delta Junction. Inurnment/Committal will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow.
