Many people don’t realize that before the Dallas Cowboys, there was another professional football team in Texas – The Dallas Texans. Sadly, they only lasted one season before folding their tent. Their record was 1-11 in 1952.
The team had an equipment manager by the name of Willie Garcia who had a wooden leg. The first time the football bounded off the field into the tall grass, no one wanted to get it due to the poisonous snakes. Garcia volunteered to retrieve the football stating that he had a “fifty-fifty chance” of surviving a snake encounter due to the snake going for the wrong leg.
Many Christians underestimate our adversary the Devil, thinking he will go for the wrong leg as they run through the tall grass of this world. Make no mistake about it, he will get that person.
As 1 Peter 5:8 states, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Think about it.
