“I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.”
“For thus saith the Lord that created the Heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.”
The universe is beyond man’s comprehension, we’ll never figure out its dimensions. I read of a good analogy of this point recently. Someone likened the earth to the size of a grape or marble. In proportion to that the sun would be the size of a beach ball and roughly 160 yards away. This would be under two football fields in length.
The largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, in comparison would be roughly the size of a grapefruit, and it would be about five blocks up the road. The nearest star would be 24,000 miles away in length in this scaled down model universe. The Milky Way, which is our galaxy, would encompass an area covering 55 billion miles wide!
The greatness of God cannot be measured any more than the universe which He has made. That same God created a way for man to have a relationship directly with Him by accepting, by faith, His gift of salvation offered in the sacrifice of His Son- Jesus Christ.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.
Have you done that?
Think about it.
