Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Hebrews 12:2a says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
During the ill-fated mission of Apollo-13, the astronauts aboard that spaceship had to make a most important decision on day six. It was a course correction. If they failed to do that correctly, they quite possibly would never return to earth. In order to conserve the energy they had, they needed to shut down the onboard computer that steered the craft. They also needed to conduct a 39 second burn of the main engines. What to do? Astronaut Jim Lovell determined that they could steer the craft manually if they could keep a fixed point by looking out their tiny window. The fixed point that they chose unknowingly to them was earth- their destination! They avoided a terrible disaster through their focus on that point.
Every person can avoid a tragic eternal disaster by directing their heart in faith upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Focusing upon any other “point” in faith will not suffice, for the Scriptures clearly point out in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
If the ultimate blissful destination and desire of your heart is Heaven, it can be attained only by trusting Jesus Christ in believing faith.
Think about it.
