The brush piles across from the Delta airstrip are being burned by the Division of Forestry today. They will likely smolder for several days says Delta Fire Management Officer Michael Goyette.

The area is managed by the Division of Forestry and allows people to dump natural debris from land clearing that is piled and burned by Forestry. Having the area available cuts down on people burning in their yard and other areas that can more easily lead to uncontrolled wildland fires.
