City Hall

Congress recently passed an appropriation package that continues funding for the Bureau of Land Management’s Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) program. The PILT program provides compensation for federal land that cannot be taxed by local government. The City of Delta Junction annually receives about $1 million in funding from the program, which is the city’s largest source of income.

The bill also provides funding for other programs within the Department of the Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Homeland Security, Interior, and other agencies, including federal funds for wildland fire suppression.
