Three local veterans were presented Quilts of Valor for their military service from the Quilts of Valor Foundation on November 12. Lance Stricklin, US Marine Corps; Vern Aiton, US Air Force; and Vern Heintz, US Army were recognized during the Delta Sportsmans Association annual membership meeting.

On November 14, Elias Grossmann, US Army, was presented a Quilt of Valor and recognized for his service. Elias is currently serving as a US Army instructor at Black Rapids Training Center.

Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF) groups are made up of volunteers across the country. These volunteers make quilts, donate time and money to help with providing quilts to Veterans and Service Members touched by war. Since 2003 QOVF have presented over 285,000 QOV. In Delta Junction the Windy Junction Quilts of Valor Group has presented more than 75 quilts in Delta Junction, Eagle, and Healy.
