WOW, Delta Junction residents really show up and come together! This year for the Delta Community Thanksgiving Dinner, we were able to serve dinner to about 165 people! It was wonderful! The ability to come together as a community and celebrate gratitude for the goodness of life was terrific. It was just so fantastic to see so many people there enjoying a great meal and friendships.

This event would not have been possible without a lot of people in the community  working together.  We would like to extend special gratitude to Anne Reierson and Gene Reierson for introducing us to this event a couple years ago; to Delta Christian Center for providing decorations and turkeys; to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for providing our paper goods & utensils; to the local Civil Air Patrol, under the command of Capt. Kristina Schmidt, and the cadets for setting up the dining hall and helping with decorations; to The Delta Wind for generously promoting and publishing the event; to Mr. Rex Beck at Delta High School for printing the posters; to Mayor JW Musgrove for his help in obtaining the use of the community center; to the Lions Club for their generous donation of prepared hams; to 5Loaves Pantry for their labor and support; to the students at Delta Elementary School for their awesome art work that brought lots of delight to the community center walls and tables; to ALL the many, many others from our community who donated very generously many side dishes and desserts to make a perfect meal and to those who donated so much of their time THANK YOU ALL! And thank you to anyone I may have unintentionally missed. All of us working together created a great atmosphere of friendship and community.

We look forward to seeing you all next year for an even bigger and better event. Remember, ALL are welcome! This is truly a community event put together by the community. If you are interested in helping, please feel free to contact us. We will start working on next year’s dinner in a few months.

With much gratitude for the blessing of living here in Delta Junction and for the many people who bless our lives!
