Love is a verb - without action, it is merely a word.

The Herman family extends our deepest thanks to the community of Delta Junction for the outpouring of love during Eileen’s illness and subsequent passing.

Special thanks to Jennifer Anderson for taking care of North Star Bookkeeping and for her many behind the scenes efforts on behalf of our family.

Your friendship and service are invaluable to us.

We also recognize the staff of Buffalo Center Service for their ongoing efforts to keep the business running smoothly.

We are overwhelmed by the kindness of all who wrote cards and letters and who have expressed their sympathy in person.

To those who donated to the “Adapting to Adversity” Scholarship fund in Eileen’s name, your support of local students and their education is a legacy she believed in.

We sincerely appreciate and thank The Delta Greely School District for providing a location for the Celebration of Life, Rich Mauer for sharing the gift of his friendship and ministry, Bill and Janine Todd and Anne Toth for their beautiful music, and the cookie bakers who, in typical Delta fashion, provided more cookies than could be eaten by the attendees.

Special thanks to the Vietnam Veteran’s representatives that traveled to Alaska to share their memories of Eileen’s “Firecracker” personality.

Your support and understanding gave us strength.

To our family and friends who traveled from near and far, we love and appreciate you beyond measure.

During her extraordinary life, Eileen was a champion for people.

She believed in showing up, being kind, and giving support to everyone.

She would have been honored, as we were, to see that so many people turned out to celebrate the memories, share the sorrow, and give love and support to her family.

May she rest in sweet peace.
