The Huskies’ cross-county season is in full swing, and our runners are doing great. Their workouts are showing fruit with improved times on a much harder course Saturday than last week’s race. 

Your Husky cross-country team participated in the North Pole Invitational held at Chena Lakes Recreation area on Saturday, August 18. The course was reported to be a fast one and enjoyable to run. 

Patrick Kiser’s Eagle Scout project is giving the Delta High School athletic field a much-needed facelift. Several years ago, high winds blew over the concession stand/press box at the field. Kiser, who is a senior at the school, decided to remedy the problem for his Eagle Scout project.

Autumn is in the air, and that means the cross country running season is upon us. The Delta High School team has a new coach after the retirement of longtime coach Mike Pelto. Dr. Tom Graves is the new counselor at the junior and senior high and is the also the new cross country coach. 

Local student and soon to be DHS graduate Kirstin Porter has become the first high school student to complete an Occupational Endorsement in Welding through the Career Advancement Center (CAC) in Delta Junction.

After a final public reading, at which no members of the public were present to comment, Delta/Greely School Board members unanimously approved changing the district’s graduation requirements.

The Delta Huskies will kick off their 2018 baseball season this evening at 6 p.m. at the baseball field in the city park. Eagle River High School will be traveling up to play tonight, and again tomorrow in the Delta Tournament.
