The DHS Huskies volleyball season kicked off their home opener on Friday as the Lathrop Malamutes were in town. This was the first look that the hometown fans got to see how the junior varsity and the varsity girls teams would perform.

On August 21 the Delta Husky cross country team attended the Birch Hill Invitational in Fairbanks. While the rain kept the weather nice and cool, it did not slow the kids down as they tackled the two-loop trail that was full of challenging hills.

The Delta Greely School District graduation for Delta High School and Alaska Home School will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the high school. Ceremonies start at 7 p.m. followed by the senior parade.

The Delta High School Girls Softball team opened the 2021 season this past Saturday vs the Monroe Rams on a beautiful sunny spring day. The Huskies, behind strong pitching and hot bats, cruised past the Monroe Rams.

Although travel has been limited for many student activities, we are still competing virtually. Culinary Arts 1 and 2 students prepare for the ProStart Challenge despite the event not being hosted in person.  Delta High School won last year, and we are preparing to keep that title again.

The sounds of balls bouncing, athletic shoes screeching, whistles blowing, and buzzers ringing welcomed about 150 fans to the first high school basketball game in a very long time. The only things that were missing was the smell of popcorn and the taste of a hot pretzel and hotdogs.
