Delta High School senior Devon Hodges was recently selected as one of ten students to represent Alaska in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Wind Symphony honors group. Hodges, who plays the euphonium, performed in Oregon with other musical peers in the NAfME Northwest Division’s biennial conference. To be selected for the Wind Symphony, a student must be from a school with an enrollment of less than 750; be from a qualifying state; and submit a recorded audition. After being selected, Hodges was required to learn the music before traveling to the conference and then perform with the honors group at a public concert.
