The Delta girls have been getting lots of net time. No not basketball, but volleyball.

Last weekend the girls traveled to Valdez for the Valdez Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The tournament took place Friday and Saturday, splitting the time between the junior varsity and the varsity squads. In all, there were 11 teams in the competition.

After the dust settled, Lathrop High School walked away handily with an unbeaten record during the competition on Friday winning all 10 games. On Saturday they were perfect again with a 5-0 record. The lady Huskies were able to put five wins up over the weekend with four of them coming on Friday.

Monroe Catholic came to Delta on Tuesday evening to take on our lady Huskies in the home opener. While our junior varsity girls tried their best, they came up short in three consecutive sets, 14-25, 13-25, and 20-25.

Next up came the varsity squad. The level of competition was more intense as was talent. Monroe once again walked away with the win in three consecutive sets, 15-25, 21-25, and 16-25.

Next home game for the Huskies will be on Thursday September 26 as the Lathrop Malemutes come to town. Games start at 4:30 p.m.
