Fireweed – The Race Across Alaska – is Alaska’s most demanding yet breathtaking bike race. The 200-mile race begins at Sheep Mountain Lodge (Glenn Highway mile 113.5), about 100 miles northeast of Anchorage and continues east to Glennallen. The race then takes a turn south to Valdez.

The Upper Copper River fisheries are set to open in the upcoming weeks, with the popular personal use fishery opening June 7, and the subsistence fishery opening June 1. The fisheries are only open to Alaska residents, and you can only fish in one of the fisheries each year.
